The Groups screen has three tabs. Discover shows suggested groups based on your activity preferences. Joined shows every group you are a member of. My Groups shows communities you own and administer.

Everything Your Group Needs in One Place
Once you join a group, five tabs unlock: Info for group details and rules, Feed for posts and updates, Events for upcoming outings, Members to see who’s in, and Gallery for photos from past adventures. Non-members only see the Info tab until they join.

Frequently Asked Questions About Thred Groups
How do I find groups that match my interests?
Go to the Groups tab and select Discover to see suggested groups based on your activity preferences. Search by keywords or filter by specific activities like hiking, cycling, or water sports.
How do I join a group?
In the Discover tab, tap a group card to open its details, then tap the join icon on the cover image. If the group has join questions, answer them before submitting. Some groups require admin approval; others let you join immediately.
Can I create my own group?
Yes. Tap the + button in the Groups tab and complete the 3-step flow: basic information, privacy settings, and an optional cover photo. Your group is live as soon as you tap Create Group.
What can I do inside a group after joining?
Members get access to Feed, Events, Members, and Gallery tabs. You can post updates, browse upcoming events, see who is in the group, and view photos. Admins can manage members and settings from Group Settings.
Is there a limit on how many groups I can join?
No. Join as many groups as match your interests — there is no cap on group membership.
How do I leave a group?
Open Group Details and tap the leave icon on the cover image, then confirm. Group owners cannot leave their own group; you must delete the group instead.
Can I message members directly within a group?
Yes. Thred includes full in-app messaging — send 1:1 direct messages to any connection or post to the group chat. Direct messages support text, photos, and location pins, and emoji reactions.
