Safe by Design — Adventure With Confidence
Thred™ is built for real-world meetups, which means privacy and safety are built into every layer — not bolted on as an afterthought.
Verified Users Only
Every Thred account is tied to a verified email and an optional phone number. This reduces anonymous bad actors and creates a baseline of accountability across the community — so the people you meet are real.
Connections-Only Visibility by Default
Your routes and posts are only visible to your accepted connections. Non-connections cannot find your profile in search or see your activity — unless you choose to change that.
- Posts and routes hidden from non-connections by default
- Username-first discovery protects your full name until you are ready to share
Robust Blocking
Block any user instantly. They disappear from your feed, cannot find your profile and cannot message you. The block takes effect immediately with no ambiguity.
Row Level Security
Every piece of data is protected server-side using Row Level Security. The database enforces access rules at the infrastructure level — you only ever see what you are meant to, regardless of what the client requests.
Frequently Asked Questions About Thred Safety & Privacy
What happens when I block someone on Thred?
Blocking a user removes them from your feed instantly. They cannot find your profile, cannot message you, and cannot see your activity. The block takes effect immediately.
How does Thred prevent spam and unwanted connection requests?
Thred enforces connection rate limits — a maximum number of requests per hour and per day. Users who hit the limit see a clear notification and cannot send further requests until the window resets.
Who can see my routes and posts on Thred?
By default, your routes and posts are only visible to your accepted connections. Non-connections cannot see your content or find you in search results unless you choose to change these settings.
How is my data secured on Thred?
Every piece of data is protected server-side using Row Level Security (RLS). This means the database enforces access rules at the infrastructure level — you only ever see data you are meant to see, regardless of what the client requests.
