Our Story — Built by Adventurers, for Adventurers
Thred™ was born from a simple belief: outdoor adventure and genuine human connection change lives — and they should be accessible to everyone.
Meet Todd — The Founder
Todd's personal journey inspired the creation of Thred. Diagnosed with ADHD at age 47 and battling Major Depressive Disorder since his teens, he saw the need to create a new tool to connect athletes and fight loneliness and social isolation — especially as they get older and enter middle age.
“We've moved around a lot for work and it's really tough to have to rebuild your personal network every time you relocate. Nearly every person my age I've connected with has had to deal with similar struggles.”
Todd is a vocal advocate for mental health and sees Thred™ as a tool to help athletes keep active and engaged.

Why We Built Thred
Loneliness is an epidemic. Social isolation claims 162,000 American lives annually—more than cancer or stroke.1
In a recent study, only 39% of U.S. adults reported feeling emotionally connected to others.2 The impact is devastating: 81% of lonely adults suffer from anxiety or depression, while 75% report their lives lack meaning or purpose.3
Thred is your new tool to break free from isolation and reconnect with what matters.
Our mission is simple but powerful: We help people build meaningful connections through real-world adventures.
